Exploring the Opportunities of Renewed Package Design for Denture Cleansers

A prominent denture cleanser manufacturer with a significant market share in Japan sought to gain insights into the optimal packaging design for consumers. Additionally, the company aimed to explore opportunities for enhancing or updating existing packaging formats to maximize usability.
Our Work
- Conducted 4 x 2-hour focus groups with men and women in their 30s–70s who frequently use denture or orthodontic cleansers
- Assigned a simple pre-task where respondents envisioned their ideal product packaging and filmed a brief video demonstrating product use while highlighting pain points with their current packaging
- Facilitated discussion about consumer preferences using various packaging stimuli, including competitor brands
The Outcome
- Identified key packaging features that enhance, or hinder usability based on consumer feedback
- Determined which design aspects should be prioritized to improve user experience
