Exploring the Product Feedback before a New Cleaning Device Launch in Japan​

A global cleaning appliance manufacturer was preparing to introduce a new cleaning device to the Japanese market. Before launch, the client wanted to understand how consumers evaluated the product, how it compared against existing solutions, and which refinements would maximize relevance and adoption among Japanese households.

Our Work

  • Conducted 17 x 90 min in-home interviews to understand the consumers’ household cleaning needs
  • Facilitated hands-on product evaluations, allowing consumers to trial the new device and share immediate feedback on usability, performance, and overall appeal

The Outcome

  • Identified the needs and usage behaviors of using cleaning devices
  • Gathered feedback on the new client product to assess its strengths and identify any potential areas for improvement compared to competitor products
