A renowned German automobile maker was interested in exploring the future prospects of the car industry. Their objective was to gain a comprehensive understanding of the importance and influence of the circular economy on drivers, potential customers, and the general public. We assisted their global agency as a local partner by conducting research in Japan as part of a multi-country study.

Our Work

  • A 5-day online community in which participants were actively involved through completing questionnaires and engaging in various tasks
  • The study’s participants were categorized into three distinct groups: current owners of the client’s brand, potential customers considering the brand, and a third group drawn from the general public to serve as a benchmark for comparison

The Outcome

  • A clear picture of how drivers, potential buyers, and the public perceive the circular economy within the automotive industry, and the extent to which it influences their purchasing decisions
  • Recommendations for how the car manufacturer can effectively communicate its circular economy initiatives to enhance public understanding and engagement
